[PAW] Ducks

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Here are some ducks. I just took this picture while running in the forest. That’s all. No time to write today ;)

[PAW] QR codes are fun

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

Here is one that wasn’t made with my phone. Actually, it COULD have been made with my phone since there are j2me apps for that.

So, WTF is this? It’s a QR code. They are not yet widely used in Europe, but in Japan you can see them all around, used for lots of different purposes. The most usual one is easily opening an URL on your phone.

The thing works by taking a picture of the code with your phone, previously equiped with a QR application (iNigma or Linkee if you use a j2me phone, Android and iPhone users, check your app providers) and waiting for the application to decode the image.

The image will then provide you with the encoded text, or redirect you to an URL if that’s what was encoded. This image above simply contains the url of this page, http://ice-wind.be.

Maybe I’ll do some mini-games with these in the following months… just have to polish the idea ;)

[PAW] Gonzo went to the racetrack

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

This week I’ll try to cover for last week’s lack of pic. I guess being on holiday really messes up with the usual schedules, so I simply forgot about last week’s post!

But this week has a great batch of pictures instead ;) .

So what’s it about? As you can read in the title, this weekend was the “Renault World Series” at the Spa Francorchamps racetrack. I went there for the day, and it was quite nice actually. The races were quite fun (although you see way better on TV), with different kinds of cars.

Also, and that’s what you will see on the pics, there were TONS of Renault cars exposed all around. The new models of course, but also several oldies quite well preserved and a bunch of tuned ones too.

The track is great, the landscape beautiful, the day was sunny with a blue sky all day long… Nice. That’s all. They call Spa Francorchamps “le plus beau circuit du monde” (translate as “the most beautifyl racetrack in the world”), and I do think they are right.

See you next week with something else!
